Abstract
Fuel cells, as a potential replacement for traditional heat engines, have attracted considerable attention recently. Although the performance-to-cost ratio of state-of-the-art fuel cells has been greatly improved over the past few years, widespread implementation of fuel cells will not be realized until their cost is competitive with heat engines. Successful application of fuel cells in automobiles will also require novel approaches to water and heat management, optimal control, and on-line diagnostics. The optimal control has been described in this paper especially for flow rate gas. Until these days, the systems still use a manual flow meter with high error percentage. We have developed a high accuracy of flow rate gas in fuel cell analysis. The prototype digital flow meter covers a range of 0 – 1 L/min with accuracy of 2 mL/min (0.0001%) and has a repeatability 3% full scale. Then this digital flow meter could be integrated in power meter fuel cell system. The simple and modular design should lead to production costs which are significantly lower than those for other devices while offering the same performance.

Keywords: flow meter, digital instrument, polymer electrolyte fuel cell, hydrogen energy.
